Cambridge Assessment English and Cambridge University Press ELT to host a free event for teachers around the world to help them get ready for the unpredictable months ahead

Experts from Cambridge have teamed up to help English language teachers adapt to the changing education landscape as a result of Covid-19

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, September 7, 2020-:  Cambridge Assessment English, a part of the University of Cambridge and Cambridge University Press ELT are helping English language teachers adapt to the changing education landscape.  The Cambridge Live Experience is scheduled on September 8, 9 and 10 and will bring together some of the world’s leading English language teaching and exam experts for talks on a range of themes including advice on transitioning back to the physical classroom, online learning, socially distanced teaching, understanding learners’ levels and providing emotional support. The event will also include a series of sessions designed to support wellbeing ranging from cooking lessons to a mindfulness session.

Speaking about this new initiative Francesca Woodward, Chief Executive of Cambridge Assessment English said, “Teachers are faced with a unique set of challenges in light of what is proving to be a really difficult year. Overnight they had to find new ways of teaching with many switching to the online environment, and it’s been really inspiring how teachers all over the world coped and bounced back. We’re hosting this event with Cambridge University Press to reach out to teachers and help them get ready for the unpredictable months ahead. Many will find their roles changing with the need to combine online teaching with the physical classroom and it is essential that teachers overcome these challenges to ensure education doesn’t stop.  The event will be a great chance to share ideas and practical tips from around the world that can be taken back into the teaching environment.”

The three-day event is open to teachers all over the world and will include more than 25 sessions and 30 speakers showcasing teaching approaches and ideas from experts from Cambridge Assessment English and Cambridge University Press.

George Hanna, Head of Business Development MEA at Cambridge Assessment English said: ‘’For the first time we’re able to offer a completely online global event of this size and level, that our English teachers throughout the Middle East and Africa region can join for free, which is really exciting. The last few months have been challenging for the education sector in most of the countries here and I’m sure this event will help them get back in the classrooms, whether virtual or face to face, a little more confident and knowledgeable. This all-new event has something for everyone, they will discover the latest teaching tools and techniques from ELT experts but as well feel inspired to try something fun and mind relaxing, such as our cooking, photography and mindfulness workshops. It is incredible that we are able now to bring so much in the online world and we’re looking forward to see everyone there!”
