UAE’s Capital College becomes the first higher-education institution in the UAE to become a member of PRME-UN


Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 13th September 2020: UAE’s renowned higher education institution, Capital College celebrates yet another milestone by being the first UAE higher education institution to become a member of the prestigious Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME-UN). This is a United-Nation driven initiative that works towards providing a sustainable environment to school, universities and other education centres. Capital College has summoned to this prominent platform as an aid to raise awareness and cultivate sustainability as an essential aspect amongst their students and faculty. Capital College as a member of PRME is part of a select group of 800 prestigious management related education bodies worldwide signatory.


Capital College will work around the six pillars or principles of PRME and aim to develop a sense of responsibility in their students and create a balance between economic and sustainable goals. In alignment with the UN Global Compact, Capital College as a PRME’s member will equip today’s aspirers to become tomorrow’s world leaders who make a difference to the society. In line with the six valued principles of PRME, Capital College will work towards developing capabilities of sustainable ethics and values, thereby contributing to an inclusive global economy.


The college will also incorporate academic activities, curricula and organisation practices that revolve around global social responsibility and create an educational framework, processes, materials and environment that set an example for effective learning experiences, thereby encouraging responsible leadership. In addition to this, Capital College plans to create a dialogue between students, educators, businesses, government and the general public by serving as a platform to voice critical issues under the global social responsibility and sustainability.


Apart from the initiatives led in the campus, Capital College will also engage in conceptual and empirical research to analyse the role, dynamics and the impact of developing sustainable, social, environmental and economic significance. Lastly, Capital College will actively hold interactions with business corporations to highlight the sustainable goals/challenges with respect to PRME and explore joint-opportunities that will further reinstate its importance and relevance around the globe.
