Burjeel Hospital welcomes National Day baby

The baby was born exactly at 00:01 am to become the first child in the country to be born on the national day

Abu Dhabi: Emirati couple, Ahmed Alkhajeh and Afra Hassan Saeed were delighted to welcome their newborn baby boy on Wednesday early morning. The birth of the baby on the special occasion, when UAE is celebrating its 49th national day, has added to the family’s excitement.

The baby boy, Khalifa Ahmed Alkhajeh, was born exactly at 00:01AM. She weighed 2710 grams and both the mother and baby are healthy and safe.

Thrilled parents, Ahmed and Afra, said they are happy and grateful to the Almighty for blessing them with a baby on this special day. “We have been longing for this since Afra became pregnant. This is our first child and hence the entire family has been waiting for this day. It is a blessing that the child has been born when the nation as a whole is celebrating the national day,” said Ahmed.
