March 16, 2021 | Dubai, United Arab Emirates:COYA Dubai, the city’s most vibrant Latin destination, presents Elementsa solo exhibition by Emirati artist Maha Al Mazrouei.
Demonstrating its continued support of creative talent from the region, COYA Dubai will launch its latest exhibition on Monday, March 22, in line with its concept of sensorial curation, combining exquisite Latin American dishes with distinctive imagery and music.
Al Mazrouei’s artwork – oil on canvas – explore strands of abstract expressionismto reach the mind and soul of her audience.“The elements in each of my piecesofferan opportunity for the viewer to escape external structures and interpret the art depending on their life experiences.” The artist does not title her paintings as she believes it will only limit the viewers’ imagination.
Variously abstract and figurative, herpaintings focus on different elements of nature and are primarily defined by textures and bold shades of colours and contrast. Her palette knifetechnique on canvas allows her to create cubistic pieces thatlook almost three-dimensional in appearance.
Maha studied at Northwest College of Art US and Royal Academy of ArtsUK and has a background in business and photography. Her works have been prominently featured at Burj Al Arab Hotel, Jumeirah Vitavelli Maldives, Dubai Airport lounges, among others. In 1996, one of her abstract paintings was chosen as a stamp for the UAE postal authorities.
