More than 1000 attendees at “MEFMA Virtual Seminar 2021”
Three of MEFMA’s members are shortlisted for the Global FM Awards
April 7, 2021, The Middle East Facility Management Associations has recently held its “MEFMA’s Virtual Seminar 2021” titled “Facility – Management Transformation & Digitization towards Sustainable Development”, in the presence of international facility management (FM) leaders among which areJamal Lootah, MEFMA President; John Carillo, Global FM Chairman; Dr. Pieter le Roux, Chair –EuroFM; and Eng. Ali AlSuwaidi, MEFMA’s Vice President and Global FM Vice Chairman.
During the seminar, the speakers discussed the prominent challenges and practices taking place currently. Moreover, MEFMA have disclosed that three of its members have been shortlisted for the Global FM Awards. the winner will be announced on the World FM Day later this May. The MEFMA members are; “Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority”; “ENGIE Solutions”; and “Imdaad”.
The MEFMA Virtual Seminar held two panel discussion on “Embedding Technology into Facility & Asset Management”and“FM Revolution: Towards a Sustainable Industry”. The seminar hosted two workshops, the first was about ““The role of Digital Facilities Management in Maximizing Asset Value”, and the second talked about“Using Big Data to Improve the Performance Management: A Case Study from the UAE FM Industry”.

The seminar featured a presentation on “Maintenance 4.0: Managing assets that matter”; which highlighted the issues and solutions facing assets management during Covid-19, and the importance of unifying the framework in the FM industry. The second presentation was titled” Digital Dexterity, from Automation to Digitalization”, and it discussed the industrial revolution’s development over the past centuries, the impact of technologies on the world’s economy, digitalization, issues behind digital transformation, and how to achieve this transformation. The last presentation was about “Future Cities: Smart, Sustainable and Resilient”, which shed the light on the challenges facing smart cities, the role of FM in transforming cities, and the operational standards and performance of cities.
