Cricket legends come together to celebrate ‘Haq Se India’ in Dubai

One Six One Network Limited hosted a private screening of their latest film, Haq Se India ( India By Right ) – an intimate portrait of India’s unimaginable road to victory in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, its thrilling final moments, and how cricket changed forever.

In advent of the forthcoming T20 Cricket World Cup, prolific faces from around the UAE alongside a smattering of Crickets most celebrated names were invited to experience the very first screening ofHaq Se India.

Guests gathered at the grand Habtoor Palace Hotel for a sophisticated evening organized by famed event planner Chimoo Acharya of L’ATTITUDE. The prestigious night was dedicated to the countries ever enduring love of cricket, its unsung heroes, and why documenting potent memories are just as important as experiencing them.     

Forged under the banner of One One Six Network Limited, The maiden movie project from global sports executiveGaurav Bahirvaniand London based stock broker Jaideep Pandya, captures one ofthe most unforgettable upsets in Cricket history.

It was important for me to give people a deeper look into what truly happened behind the scenes of such an incredible moment in sport. In fact, its a story thats never been truly told on the silver screen, and to have all the key players band together to be a part of the film highlights both the camaraderie of the game, and the importance of keeping stories alive, especially for the younger generation of fans”  Said producer, Gaurav Bahirvani  

Guests at the screening were treated to some exciting interactive experiences, including multiple musical performances and an electrifying auction of rare artifacts from both the film and the 2007 match, bookending the evening. 

The featured items included a stunning hand painted poster of the film, featuring faces and signatures of the inimitable 2007 squad – Paying homage to the lost art of poster painting, a staple of Bollywood history.

The second memento up for grabs was a cricket bat also signed by all 9 members of the 2007 squad – throwing cricket enthusiasts in the crowd into a frenzy, and selling for a staggering AED50,000.

Following the screening, attendees were left shocked by the surprise appearance of S. Sreesanth

The legendary cricketer was then asked on stage about his memories of that historic day, his glorious catch, and what it was like reliving the moment through a camera lens 14 years later.

It was an epic experience watching the movie in all its glory in front of a room full of cricket fans! Reliving the struggle and victory on screen, reminded me how blessed we were to win then and continue winning through the love of all our supporters!Added Cricketer S. Sreesanth 

The movie is slated to release later this month on an OTT platform and will also showcase a powerful title track by Bollywood Blockbuster music producers Salim Sulaiman.
