FTCCI and TSIIC to work with Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to boost bilateral trade

Dubai, November 11, 2021: The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) team led by Mr. Bhaskar Reddy met Mr. Omar Khan, Director-International Offices and team in presence of Mr. E V Narsimha Reddy, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Telangana State Industrial Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation. The discussion was held on the sidelines of the Expo 2020 Dubai. The objective of the meeting was to facilitate knowledge sharing and cooperation between the two chambers. 

Both the chambers will promote trade in their respective countries, exchange information on trade  and investment opportunities, organize trade fairs, business meetings, and training sessions for the mutual benefit of their members. 

The event was facilitated by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

Mr. Omar Khan gave an overview of the chamber and its activities spread across the globe.  Mr Khan mentioned that the Industries in particular MSEs have been struggling during pandemic to get market access, business connects and therefore it is imperative for the chambers to bridge the gap through virtual connects. He also gave Indan delegates an overview of the Dubai Start up Hub initiative that provides opportunity for the startup community to connect with entrepreneurs, stakeholders and make a right pitch.

There was also a discussion regarding the new emerging technologies and need to extend support to the existing companies. The chamber will continue to  explore new opportunities and avenues that will further enhance the B2Bs between their members. The entrepreneurs and start ups from India shall get connected to the Dubai Satartup Hub as a follow up.

Mr. E V Narsimha Reddy highlighted the pro active role of the government in providing conducive environment for the industries and startup to thrive. He further added that Telangana is a landlocked state and so there is a demand and a need to setup dry ports to further facilitate exports. With the enhanced irrigation, the state is prepared to increase its exports of rice to the GCC matkets and a Multimodal Logistics Park will ramp up the targets. The state is in talk with the DP World for the same. 

India being the second largest trading partner of UAE, both the chambers can play a pivotal role on building and sustaining the growth momentum to achieve greater heights in the years to come.
