Breastfeeding Friends honours 40 breastfeeding mothers in recognition of their role in providing children with healthy nutrition

The Breastfeeding Friends Association, one of the health support associations in the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, honoured a number of mothers who breastfeed for two years and mothers who were infected with the Corona virus and continued breastfeeding of all nationalities, in appreciation of their role in providing children with healthy nutrition and proper care, and in line with the efforts of The Emirate of Sharjah and the rest of the Emirates in promoting a healthy lifestyle, and consolidating its position as an ideal healthy environment for mother and child, in addition to mothers of children of determination will also be honoured with “Read and Enjoy Library” in Dubai neighbourhood councils – Al Khawaneej Majlis next Monday.

This came during a ceremony organized by the association in conjunction with International Mother’s Day, in the presence of Her Excellency Eng. Khawla Abdulaziz Al-Noman, President of the Breastfeeding Friends Association, the association’s employees, and a number of volunteers, also a large crowd of honoured mothers and their children, representatives of the sponsors and supporters of the association, in addition to representatives The media.
Her Excellency Engineer Khawla Abdul Aziz Al Noman confirmed that organizing this ceremony comes with the aim of supporting mothers to take responsibility for their families and society and empowering them to build a healthy generation that contributes to upgrading the components of society in all fields, in accordance with the wise directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, stressed the need to improve the physical and psychological health of children and mothers by increasing the rates of breastfeeding, which is the best way to form a healthy family relationship to reach a healthy and safe society whose members enjoy health and wellness.
Engineer Khawla Abdulaziz Al-Noman pointed to the role of the ceremony in highlighting the importance and benefits of breastfeeding, which is one of the best sources of nutrition for infants and young children and the prevention of diseases, and to emphasize that the correct and sound upbringing of children begins with breastfeeding, which contributes to improving the physical and psychological health of children and mothers. She affirmed the association’s keenness to intensify its efforts to consolidate the practice of breastfeeding among mothers and to provide them with all forms of support, and to ensure an effective contribution to achieving the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah to be a healthy and friendly city for children and young people and an environment free from diseases, as this ceremony represents a continuation of the association’s efforts in this regard. She thanked the mothers who work hard to support their families, strengthen the bonds of love among their members, raise future generations, take care of them, and protect their health.

The honouring ceremony witnessed a video presentation of the experience of a number of mothers with breastfeeding, out of their great love for their children, and their keenness on their immunity, in addition to organizing entertainment and awareness sessions on the importance of breastfeeding and its role in ensuring the health of the child and mother, thus helping working mothers to achieve a balance between their working lives. And the family because of the decline in the chances of their children contracting diseases, which allows them to continue to work and gives them the psychological stability necessary for creativity and excellence.
