Emirati youth unleash their entrepreneurial spirit at SEF Hackathon 2022

 ●     The three-day entrepreneurial journey for Emirati youth to ideate their business acumen

     The hackathon will introduce participants to the entrepreneurial mindset and innovative thinking approaches

     This year’s challenge will focus on education technology in partnership with EDT&PartnersSharjah, 16 December 2022  

The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SEF) 2022 Hackathon has kicked off today (December 16), ahead of the festival that will launch tomorrow, and will run until Sunday, December 18. A total of 150 participants, selected from a pool of more than 450 applicants, will compete at the hackathon, powered by the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa) and the ICT Fund of the UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA).


The hackathon challenge this year will focus on the sector of EDTech in partnership with challenge partner EDT&Partners. During the hackathon, youth will be introduced to the entrepreneurial mindset and modern, innovative thinking approaches, supporting and empowering young talents to make positive changes and create a future based on innovation.


For her part, Najla Al Midfa, CEO of Sheraa, said: “We are excited to host the SEF 2022 Hackathon in partnership with the ICT Fund and the TDRA. The hackathon is an important part of our efforts to support and empower Emirati youth to become the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators. The SEF 2022 Hackathon is a unique opportunity for Emirati youth to gain valuable experience and skills in entrepreneurship and innovation. The event will provide participants with the chance to stimulate their entrepreneurial mindsets and come up with high-impact, ICT-inspired solutions to selected challenges.
